      报告人简介

      金鑫,美国Salk生物研究所(Salk Institute for Biological Studies)神经生物学副教授。博士毕业于上海交通大学,随后在美国国立卫生研究院从事博士后工作2012年加入Salk生物研究所,担任助理教授,2018年晋升为副教授。主要从事基底神经节环路在运动学习和运动控制中的功能研究。迄今在NatureScienceCell Nature Neuroscience Nature BiotechnologyCell Stem Cell Neuron等杂志发表论文15篇。因其出色的研究工作而获NIH Benedict J. Latteri AwardSFN Gruber International Research AwardMcKnight Memory & Cognitive Disorders Award等奖项。

 

      报告摘要:The basal ganglia are critical for motor learning and action selection. The classic model of basal ganglia suggested that there are two major (direct and indirect) neural pathways, differently modulated by dopamine and working antagonistically to facilitate and inhibit movements, respectively. Despite the wide application of this model to understand basal ganglia function and diseases, the classic model itself has not been directly evaluated. I'll present the findings from my lab on the physiology and function of dopamine and striatal direct/indirect pathways during action selection, combining in vivo recording, optogenetics and quantitative behavior in freely moving mice. An updated view on the functional model of basal ganglia will be discussed in relation to health and disease.
